More detailed business principles are presented and discussed in the adult sessions. Topics covered range from Cash Flow Analysis, Budgets For Charity, and Money In The Church, to How Not To Rob God, Interest Rates, What Percent Is It Anyway?, and Pledging Finances. The Adult Business Academy is scheduled on alternating Saturdays from 1:30pm – 3:30pm.
Choir
Our Choir consists of any church members and their guests who wish to sing in our services. We welcome all levels of experience and provide songs that are easy to learn, along with vocal training. In addition to regular services, we greatly encourage participation during the Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter seasons. Choir rehearsal is scheduled on Saturdays at 11:30am.
Confirmation Class
A study of Luther’s Small Catechism and the Bible are the text used in the class. The objective of the study is to prepare participants (Adults and Youth age 10 and up) for Communicant Membership in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The length of study is determined by the Christian experience of each student and the grasp of material presented in the course. Confirmation classes are scheduled on Saturdays from 11:00am – 12:15pm.
Craft Class
Our Craft Class exercises expression of the Christian Faith through various arts and crafts projects. Materials used in the crafts are simple everyday items creatively transformed into a work of art for the enrichment of God’s people. The Craft Class accommodates all ages of Children and Adults and can vary with the number and interest of those in attendance. The Craft Class is scheduled on alternating Saturdays at 10:30am.
Food Pantry
Our Food Pantry ministry was started to feed the hungry and is unique in that we make deliveries when there is a need, rather than having operating hours. With God’s blessings and the generosity of members from Christ Lutheran Church (Brownsburg) and the former Messiah Lutheran Church, our ministry has grown over the years to feed over 3,000 recipients. Please contact us to arrange a delivery time, and we will make ourselves available when you call.
“FTL Series” Accompaniment CD Project
The “FTL Series” Accompaniment CD is a unique music resource project presented in the rich tradition of African-American and other cultural styles that embodies and elevates the heritage of Lutheran worship. Songs of praise and thanksgiving found in the vast repertoire of the Christian hymnody are transformed using elements of rhythm, timbre, and improvisation to create a soulful union of music expressive of God’s word and refreshing to the spirit. For more information, please visit our “FTL Series” Accompaniment CD page.
Sidewalk Symphony
This ensemble was first formed when regular Choir members were not readily available due to prior commitments. The Sidewalk Symphony is a small, dedicated group of individuals who are able to harmonize and can sing a capella or with limited instrumentation. They sing in the “doowop” style of earlier years and stand as if singing on a “sidewalk” or “street corner” to make a beautiful symphony of sound to uplift listeners. The Sidewalk Symphony group requires additional practice time and includes learning choreography for certain songs.
Tutoring Sessions
Tutoring sessions are available to school age children having difficulty with Mathematics and Science. There are minimal fees for each student and is based on the amount of instructional time needed for each student according to his/her specific needs. A structured teaching plan is determined after an initial meeting with the Tutor. Tutoring sessions are scheduled on Saturdays from 11:30am – 12:15pm. Please contact the Pastor for additional information or to set up an initial meeting.
